Michael Louis Rufino is a Photographer based out of northern new jersey.

If you are looking for a photographer who has a background in, well, just about everything, then you have come to the right place.

My career began well before I realized, with me picking up a camera around the age of eight. I started out making short films, both live action and stop-motion, with my friends. Then, when I got a bit older, I joined the TV productions department at my high school. There, I honed many of the skills I developed on my own.

My passion for photography began after I decided I no longer wanted to be a filmmaker, a dream that I had for well over a decade at that point. It was then that I began taking photos of landscapes, using the skills I developed in high school towards a different end.

During this time I explored a different career path, one that had interested me for years: social work. I spent time getting to know and assisting individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as those going through the most extreme mental health crises.

However, after some time, I decided this was too taxing, and retreated back to what I know best: the photographic arts. One thing that my social work experience taught me, that I bring to each couple and client, is that each person is unique and deserves to be treated with respect and understanding. This is at the core of my customer service ethos.

Eventually, I began photographing everything, evolving from my landscape photography roots. What I found is a true love of photographing the most important days of people’s lives. I have photographed newborns, only a day or so old. I have photographed weddings, where couples have never made a more important commitment. Either way, I have found that being a part of such valued moments in my client’s lives has been a dream come true.
